William Rabjohns wins junior 1 mile run

The boys category in this year's 1 mile race was won by William Rabjohns in a time of 5 minutes and 15 seconds. Running in the black and yellow vest of Poole A C he beat last year's winning time by 11 seconds and was a full 18 seconds ahead of his closest rival. Finishing in second place was Wimborne A C runner Joe Goodwin, with Ajay Coombs, another Poole A C runner, finishing third in a time of 5 minutes and 38 seconds.

In the girls event it was Isabella Cox who was first across the line, running for Wimborne A C she completed the course in 6 minutes and 37 seconds. Second to finish was Poole A C runner Elizabeth Dawson in a time of 6 minutes and 49 seconds, followed in by Wimborne A C runner Amelia Davey who claimed the final podium position in a time of 7 minutes dead.

David Broadley wins 5km for Poole A C

First to cross the finish line in this year's 5km was David Broadley in a time of 16 minutes and 7 seconds. Claiming the next two slots for Poole Runners were Dominic Willmore and last year's winner John Llewellyn. Their times were 16 minutes and 25 seconds, and 16 minutes and 47 seconds respectively.

In the ladies race it was Fern Kimber finishing in 19 minutes and 26 seconds for Poole Runners, with Poole A C's Lesley Moore finishing second in 20 minutes and 8 seconds. Third to cross the finish line was Hannah Acquah, running for Wimborne A C she completed the course in 20 minutes and 30 seconds.

The Carnival Committee would like to say a big "thank you" to all the runners who turned out to compete in this year's Carnival Run. The support of our race from the local running community over the years has been truly outstanding, this years race has already raise £1700 for local charities and good causes.

Our thanks also go out to the many race stewards and officials who gave their time freely, and contributed immensely to the smooth running of the event. Special thanks to Mike Towner and his team from Poole Runners for their continuing help, advice and support in staging this event.
